Biograd na Moru
In just a 10 minute drive from Pakoštane, you are in Biograd na Moru. Drink coffee on a sunny waterfront, walk along the promenade to the beach of Soline and refresh yourself in the catering facilities along the beach in the shade of dense pine trees. At the Regional Museum of the City of Biograd na Moru, discover why our neighbouring city is known as a royal and crown city and see a unique collection on the Adriatic, where there are over 10,000 artefacts taken from a sunken Venetian ship from the 16th century.
Nin
The famous past of the oldest Croatian royal city is a recommendation for a trip to Nin, a city of salt and medicinal mud. The Queen’s Beach in Nin is an oasis of sandy beaches ideal for a carefree swim. The symbol of Nin is the church of St. Nikola on a hill from where you can experience an unforgettable sunset.
Zadar
You will find yourself In the centre of the Zadar County in only 40 minutes. You will be introduced to the generosity of Zadar by the representatives of the past of St. Donato (pre-Romanesque church from the 9th century) and the Antique Forum (the main square of the Emperor period of the Roman Empire from the 1st century BC to the 3rd century AD) and representatives of the present with the Greeting to the Sun (urban installation from 2008) and the Sea Organ. Along with the unique melody of the Sea Organ, Zadar’s waterfront you will show you the most beautiful sunset in the world, which was confirmed by the famous Alfred Hitchcock during his visit to Zadar in May 1964. The wide street or Kalelarga, the main Zadar street, will connect you with all the streets of the old part of the city of the peninsula.
Šibenik
You will find yourself in the centre of the Šibenik-Knin County after only 40 minutes from Pakoštane. The centenary Kresimir’s city-the building of King Petar Krešimir IV will welcome you along with the Cathedral of St. Jakov, a member of the UNESCO family from the 15th and 16th centuries, the only cathedral in Europe built of stone without bonding mortar. Šibenik’s 4 fortresses of St. Mihovil, Baron, St. Ivan and St. Nikola are unavoidable attractions of the city. Walk on the Promenade through the canal of St. Ante’s and enjoy the shade of pine and oak forests, and enjoy refreshment and recreation on the main city beach Banj in the very centre of the city.
Trogir
A recommendation for a one-day excursion and walking tour is Trogir, the city considered the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic city in Central Europe, and is therefore under UNESCO protection. Enter the city through the Renaissance city gate, walk to the Cathedral of St. Lovre, whose construction began in 1213. The impressive Fortress of the 14th century Kamerlengo is waiting for you on the coast.
